Street Sisters Society is a street level outreach organization that provides basic life necessities to those who are experiencing homelessness and exploitation. Our focus is largely women although we help anyone who is in this situation. Our funding priorities for the next year are to ensure no unsheltered individual is without proper footwear and jackets.

Donations of footwear are often not suitable or have almost no life span left in them. Finding quality shoes for folks who are unhoused is a significant issue and providing footwear will reduce harms from walking in shoes that are too small, and worn out, in some cases folks have no shoes at all due to larger sized swollen feet.

Street Sisters will also put dollars towards sleeping bags, winter coats and other cold weather gear such as heavy winter mitts in an effort to reduce exposure in deep freeze temperatures experienced in Calgary.
