In 2019, over 2,000 young people from southern Alberta participated in first-class programming to develop their talents, character and leadership capabilities. From the high-quality performance talents of the Calgary Stampede Showband to the one-of-a-kind educational experience of the Stampede School educational program, we continue to provide young people with experiences that will build life skills, positively shape their values and give them a genuine sense of community spirit.
In the past year, our Calgary Stampede Showband became champions at the World Association of Marching Show Bands Championships for the sixth time. With over 1180 instructional hours throughout the 2019 season, Showband members were rewarded for their relentless hard work and passion with this well deserved title. We also held the second year of our new Stampede Summer Camp program, where 65 diverse youth came together to connect, develop a sense of belonging and have fun! With activities such as tipi raising, nutritious education and a visit to the historic OH Ranch, this camp serves to create a unique experience for Calgary youth, both new and established, to form connections and get to know their Calgary home in a whole new way.The Calgary Stampede Foundation is committed to providing Alberta’s youth with opportunities to develop strong roots in their culture and heritage through programs that enhance personal growth, citizenship and education.
Currently we are seeking inspired donors to support the Calgary Foundation’s core youth programming.
We are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Calgary Stampede Showband in 2020, with a focus on raising money for this inspiring program as they hit an exciting milestone.
Donors receive the maximum tax benefit based on current CRA rules and regulations, and donations are managed in perpetuity.
