In Alberta, 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. There are an estimated 2,700 new prostate cancer cases each year in Alberta and is the 3rd largest cause of death from cancer in Canadian men. Men are more likely to avoid preventative care, delay treatment and are 67% less likely to have a healthcare provider. When detected early, prostate cancer is one of the most successfully treated types of cancer.
With your support, we can keep pushing the boundaries in access to care and in advancing men’s health. We can empower men to be more proactive about their health – physically and mentally. Most importantly, we can test more men, get them into treatment faster, save more lives, and help keep families together. Together, we can do this for all those affected by prostate cancer today and those who may face it tomorrow.
Funding to the Prostate Cancer Centre will support the MAN VAN program, research and expansion (physical and programs).
