At Triwood, community is something you can feel.
We have deep roots in Calgary, serving the northwest communities of Charleswood, Collingwood and Foothills Estates since 1961. In fact, we were one of the first 10 community associations established in Calgary!
Our spaces host everything from ice sports and painting classes to community dinners, trivia nights and seasonal celebrations.
On any given day, you might find:
– A child taking their first skating lesson
– A seasonal farmer’s market buzzing with vendors, live music and kids’ workshops
– Seniors catching up over cards or tai chi
– Kids exploring science at summer camp
– A lively game of seniors’ slo-pitch at the ball diamond
Our facilities include a community hall, an arena, and a neighbourhood pub, plus meeting rooms and open spaces that get used for everything from weddings and community events to programming for kids, adults and seniors alike.
We’re also home to many partner groups like Northwest Ringette, Confederation Park 55+ Activity Centre, Northwest Warriors Hockey, Adventures Daycare and the 4th Elks Triwood Scouts. Between our own programs and community activities, we welcome over 160,000 people each year from all quadrants of Calgary.
At Triwood, community isn’t just a concept, it’s something we build every day. We help people make connections, stay active and feel at home in their community, whether they’ve lived here for decades or are new to the neighbourhood.
Soundproofing Our Multi-Use Spaces – $60,000
Triwood is a busy place. And with two of the main rooms in our hall stacked directly on top of each other, with no soundproofing between them, it’s getting harder to run more than one program or event at a time.
Loud music from a fitness class can echo into a memorial service. A simple microphone in one space can disrupt a quiet gathering in the other. This means we typically have to leave one room empty, even when demand for our spaces is high.

With your support, we aim to raise $120,000 (we’re already halfway there!) to install professional-grade soundproofing in our lower Foothills Room. That means:
– More programs for kids, adults and seniors
– More flexible space options for the community
– Fewer disruptions, and smoother scheduling for the many groups who use our space
This one-time upgrade will help us use the community hall to its full potential and welcome more people, more often. It’s a practical fix that will have a real impact on our ability to grow and meet the needs of the community.
We’ve already secured about half the funds and now we’re asking for your help to close the gap. Together, we can make more space for what matters.
Community is everything. Every dollar or hour you give helps us to build community, unlock new programs and services and create lasting social connections for Calgarians.
