Venturers started in 1986 and we have many stories to tell. All are as unique as the individuals who live them. One commonality for the women and men who join us is their passion to make a difference in their community. They also happen to have a developmental disability. Participants range from fresh out of high school to retirement age. Participants and staff stay with us for a long time because they love the wide variety of activities and the sense of community.
With each year the cost of delivering our program increases: insurance, transportation (currently looking for a 15 passenger van), training, equipment and supplies. Unfortunately the funding has not increased to meet these needs, and we need to find ways to make up the difference. Support (volunteer and financial) from community organizations and individuals expands available opportunities. We are able to issue charitable tax receipts for financial donations and donations in kind.
