We Did It! School-Age Care Society

We Did It! School-Age Care Society was established on November 1, 2012 with a desire to transform the way in which people see and utilize childcare. Instead of establishing a common forum for parents to simply drop-off their children, our childcare facility will create a welcoming environment where kids of diverse abilities can come together to learn, grow, and become exposed to new opportunities that they may not otherwise get to experience.

In an attempt to improve the lives of single parents, low-income families, as well as those with special needs, we are undertaking a poverty reduction strategy that will improve the lives of many through our school-age program, adolescent workshops, and meal program.

In addition (and perhaps more importantly) we are responding to provincial wide issues around limited access to care (especially for those with special needs), as well as high program enrollments, long wait lists, and the limited amount of opportunities which are present in various childcare settings. At We Did It! we continue to value the efforts of our volunteers. Over the years, the number of individuals who have come forward to contribute their skills and talents towards our organization has amazed us. Some of our volunteers contribute as board members, while others lend a hand by initiating community events for the children to engage in and getting involved in fundraising activities.

What skills or strengths do you have that could make a lasting impact on our organization? We would love to hear from you! Please contact us for more information.
