The Writers’ Guild of Alberta (WGA) needs your support to ensure the future of Alberta’s literary community. We’ve launched the WGA Endowment Fund to secure long-term sustainability, allowing us to continue nurture emerging talent and sustain our vibrant writing programs.

Since 1980, the WGA has helped more than a thousand members grow their careers. Your donation helps create award-winning novels and life-changing mentorships.

Programs like mentorship, youth writing residencies, and the Alberta Literary Awards have made a profound impact on Alberta writers:

“My time with my mentor was nothing short of life-changing. Her criticism, coupled with her wisdom and gentle humor was instrumental in transforming my manuscript from a first draft to an award-winning novel.” — Ali Bryan, author

“It’s such a wonderful environment. You learn, but it doesn’t feel like school, and every single person here is kind (not to mention talented). Going to WordsWorth is a magical experience.” — Youth participant

The WGA is committed to fostering a vibrant literary community, but we rely on grants and donations to continue our work. Economic uncertainty can jeopardize funding, so growing the Endowment Fund ensures stable support for our programs, no matter the circumstances.

Please consider donating today to support Alberta’s writers and be a part of Alberta’s literary legacy! Thank you for your contribution.
