Calgary-based Charity Youth en Route inspires and supports active transportation to school and beyond. Focussed on Junior High and High Schools, our work breaks down the barriers youth face when considering wheeling to school, determined by engagement with schools and students. At some schools, it’s the lack of secure bike storage or a lock. At others, students lack basic cycling skills and route knowledge. Our programs meet the needs of students and integrates active transportation, including cycling education, into core and optional classes.
We are looking for funding and donations to purchase equipment, including helmets, that are difficult to fund. We are also looking for prizes and incentives for our student leaders.
