Since 1985, the Youth Singers of Calgary have been a cultural cornerstone, providing top-tier performing arts education and fostering community connections. Our home, the ATCO Performing Arts Centre, is a hub for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.
Our roof is reaching the end of its lifetime sooner than we anticipated. When the spring thaw of 2024 happened, a leak turned into a flood in one of our offices. Then, major holes in our main studio were revealed by rain, flooding a good section of our floor where the audience sits. Even during a performance, the roof began to leak, and the audience could clearly see we were in dire need of help to replace this roof.
We’ve started initial repairs to keep our singers and community safe. However, these are only temporary fixes, and a complete roof replacement is urgently needed.
The ATCO Performing Arts Centre is where young performers grow, where arts organizations find the perfect venue, and where creativity thrives every single day. As a non-profit charity and a hub for the performing arts, we always want to ensure the safety of our performers and visitors. This roof repair is ahead of our schedule for a replacement, and it’s crucial to address it now.
Together, we can Raise The Roof and continue to teach the artistic talents of tomorrow.
