Youth Singers of Calgary creates great performers on stage and in life.

Since 1985, YSC has provided passion, purpose, and direction to over 10,000 young people, fostering confidence, leadership skills, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. Inclusivity is at the heart of Youth Singers, with music and choral divisions tailored for all ages and abilities. From early education and specialized classes for young people with special needs to adult auditioned choral and recreational music programs, we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to express themselves on stage.

A typical year with Youth Singers will see our core divisions participate in two spectacular main stage shows at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, as well as up to 100 community performances throughout the city. The YSC touring program gives young people a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents across Canada, and around the world, including to 20 countries on five continents.

YSC divisions and other community groups rehearse at the ATCO Performing Arts Centre (APAC) an 18,000 square foot recreational arts facility, owned and operated by the Youth Singers. Each day APAC welcomes hundreds of people who want to be active in the performing arts.

• YYC! (Yes You Can) Bursary Fund supports excellence in performance and removes barriers to music education for young people with financial need.
• STAR (Special Talents in Arts & Recreation) is a unique, interactive music and movement program that gives children, youth and young adults with cognitive delays the opportunity to experience the joys of music through song and dance.
• Professional Performance Equipment and Technology allows youth to build confidence through success on stage. To present our performers at their best requires continuous investment in tools and equipment. These may be things that the audience never sees but are essential to putting on a show, items like professional sound equipment, computers, and equipment for wardrobe and sets.
• YSC Music Library contains hundreds of musical arrangements, along with original works by YSC artistic staff, that encourage skill development and suit the vocal range and age of each member of the Youth Singers family.
