Our work
Since 2017, the Calgary Climate Hub has worked to educate and empower all Calgarians to take climate action. This has been achieved through our advocacy campaigns, community climate conversations, seniors programming, art actions, active transportation events, climate justice work, tiny forest plantings, nature based solutions project, student climate bursary, monthly podcast, and more! These projects unify and empower communities, inform curious listeners, direct municipal policy, and demonstrate ways of living, working and playing together in a sustainable and equitable manner.
We stand behind communities and support them to take action on the issues they care most about. We demonstrate clear connections between climate, and quality of life and cost of living concerns, to better prioritize municipal actions that create greater equity and opportunity for all Calgarians, and beyond.
Vision: Calgary is a leader on climate action.
Mission: We educate and empower Calgarians to become active climate citizens.
Our Core Values:
- Non-partisan: We support effective climate action and policies, not specific political parties or politicians.
- Evidence-based: We encourage critical thinking, understand and cite sources, and seek sound information.
- Collaborative: Building collaborations and coalitions is important; we seek to merge efforts for building resilience and concrete skills.
- Diverse: We host inclusive dialogue and bring more and diverse people into healthy dialogue.
- Volunteer-led: We need the involvement of Calgarians to motivate community and individuals to take action.
This work is more important than ever before, as we approach an uncertain climate future. However, we know that by coming together and working collectively on climate action, we can make a change for the better, and a world that future generations will be proud of. Please donate today!
