Our work
Dashmesh Culture Centre is a registered charitable organization based in northeast Calgary dedicated to serving the broader community through faith-based leadership, social support, and community engagement. Guided by Sikh principles of equality, service (seva), and compassion, the Centre provides inclusive programs that address food insecurity, newcomer settlement challenges, and community well-being.
Key initiatives include the Food Bank and No Hungry Tummy program, which provide culturally appropriate groceries and prepared meals to families, seniors, and individuals experiencing financial hardship. The Centre also offers volunteer opportunities, youth engagement, cultural events, and community gatherings that foster belonging and connection.
While rooted in Sikh values, Dashmesh Culture Centre welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds. The organization plays a trusted role for many newcomer and immigrant families who face language barriers and seek culturally familiar support when settling in Calgary.
Through strong volunteer engagement and community partnerships, the Centre works to reduce hardship, strengthen families, and promote dignity for all.
